The words Thank You feel inadequate to describe the gratitude I feel at having been able to witness these pages flowing from your imagination.
I sincerely hope this exercise has sufficiently re-stoked your fires and that you will grace us with more of these jaunts soon!

Mr Byrne,

Thanks for allowing us to watch this exercise play out. It was a dream come true to see you drawing these characters again, but it was even more fascinating to learn about the creative process of a comic book. I've always enjoyed your pencil work, so it was nice to see these pages not inked. Todays finale was probably your best page, and that says a lot given the quality of the others. 

I found this experiment to be very telling about the industry and what is not working anymore. Aside from the refreshing "page a day" delivery system, no one but YOU, knew what was coming next. I had suspense in comics again — something I've really missed. 

For you this was, I'm guessing,  an experiment wrapped in fun. For me, it was a beautiful blast from the past that revealed why I used to love comics and what's missing from them today. 

Thanks again and I look forward to seeing what drops out of your pencil next.

Here you touch upon something of which I wasn't even thinking as I drew, yet now realize was there in the back of my mind as an unconscious influence: knowing that none of these pages would be used (leaked) to promote the book three months in advance. Knowing that no ennui-engorged fanboys would pore over these pages and, months later, declare the published book "too predictable".

Oh, dog, what have we done to ourselves??

Sigh...Thank you, JB.  This has been a wonderful experience.  I too hope there’s a cover, but if not that’s ok as well.  It’s only two more issues until Guardian, at least  ;^)

From "I don't feel like drawing anymore" to "I'm going to draw an entire an entire 'imaginary' issue of UNCANNY X-MEN"...

Now I'm eagerly awaiting the next "issue," which may never come. 

Ah well. I very much appreciate this "freebie." Thank you, JB.
