So the UNTOLD STORY page above reminded me of a question I've been meaning to ask for a while: did Terry ink these pages in '80 or '83? I ask because the inks look like Austin's thinner, broken line that  he tended to use during the latter years. The unpublished pages were also printed as pencils only in-between so I had suspected that they were uninked for a couple of years.

Terry inked the unused pages shortly before UNTOLD STORY was published.

I really hope this book becomes a reality . Ever since this thread started back in June it has only gained more and more steam , even with JB meeting CB at Marvel .

Is this a typical timeline for getting a book approved to see print? I'm really hoping we all get a great announcement before year end.

This is FAR from typical -- altho given the origins of NEW VISIONS, it is becoming typical for me!

Thanks for appreciating that!!

If nothing happens with Marvel—or even if it does, post publication—I’ll serialize these pages here as fanfic, so you’ll see ‘em one way or another.

As you will all guess, I’m sure, the art I’ve been posting as “experiments”, like the Shi’ar scene, is from these additional pages. (The first “issue” is now “double-sized”, btw.)

Ah, the madness... the madness...

The sweet sweet madness. =)
Three issues so far!? I'll speak for the rest of us Pavlovian Canines and say we are drooling at the thought.

Curiosity questions for JB:

1) Did you also draw the covers for these 3 issues?

2) Do you see yourself possibly inking the covers?

2) Would the idea of a somewhat retro cover dress (corner box heads and such) appeal to you?

so with 3 issues done and a dozen planned, did you use / create "character sheets" for any new characters you've come up with for this?

And, if you did, how bout teasing us with some of them?

(one of the coolest things about being a kid and reading "The Art of John Byrne" in 1980 were those pages of characters, some with names / titles, some without, and just trying to figure out how they all fit and where)

Have you found that you've had to do any sort of homework for particular characters or storylines?
