Perhaps you may calm a bit your nerves, working on the 2nd issue or writing/organizing your ideas on paper in the case it goes well!

I really hope this pans out too! This is the
most excited I've been about a Marvel book
since the last time you did X-men!

I've already done the latter. Obsession. Like I said.

Interesting interview with C.B. being quoted today where he says getting you back @ Marvel is top of his wish list but he realises there is a lot of work needed in rebuilding trust first.
I know next to nothing about the man but he seems to be trying @ least.

Edit: & in the ‘should have looked @ the threads below’ column, here is exhibit A

This is, as noted, one of the biggest hurdles this project would face, were it to go to series. The internet would blaze with endless threads and commentary, all from people who relentlessly missed the point -- often deliberately.

Is it necessary to care about those people?  It seems like one could just take the approach of just doing the best story possible and opinions will be what they will be.  If a fanboy wants to explode because the dates on a tombstone don't match some other story...so what?

It seems to me that paying attention and catering to people who care about such things is a big part of the problems current comic books have anyway.

I think a series as X-Men Elsewhen has a really good market:
1st the great fan base that Mr.Byrne still has
2nd the buyers picking it out of curiosity about Mr.Byrne
3rd it's a X-Men title

So I think at least the 1st arc would sell pretty well. After that it will depends on the results (sales of 2nd and 3rd group).
The problem that may arise, as I think Mr.Byrne fears, is that if it becomes a great hit, Marvel may start to interfere too much in the series and that is a big no for Mr.Byrne.

Hi John. just joined the forum to say how much of a fan I’ve been since Man Of Steel. God knows how much time I spent copying your Superman art as a kid along with wearing out my copy of How to Draw Comics The Marvel Way. These new pages have been amazing to see. You sir are one of the best in your field. I’ve only recently gotten back into drawing so I couldn’t resist taking a stab at inking a page, so any constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated. Because of the forums  resolution settings, the pic is slightly blurred so I hope it comes out clear enough.

Sorry, this is the first time I’ve inked anyone’s pencils but my own. I was wondering how to approach him in that first panel.
