Love the Storm drawing. It reminds me of one of my favorite Storm
images, which was the cover for Amazon #1. (I hope you reconsider
trying to get Terry Austin to ink your work if you are not going to do it
yourself.)

Separately, do inkers work on the actual pencils these days or just a
copy?

Brilliant drawing of lightning (and Storm and storm!). I always end up fixating on the smallest details but here I'm loving the construction. The hips really sell the stride.

Edited to add: The above image of Cyclops is one of my very favourites done by an artist and that is accepting that Neil Adams and Alan Davis draw a freakin' amazing Cyclops!*

* They aren't too shabby on other characters too.

That's an extremely elegant Storm.

Late to the party on the inks, but JB is modern JB's best inker for my money! That Kitty page is perfect and loaded with texture.

Extending the fantasy scenario, I am determined to do full pencils on this "series", which leaves me with one concern should I ink it myself: I might start unconsciously pulling back on the pencils, thinking "Well, if I'm gonna be inking it, I don't need as much information."

And that would kinda defeat the point!

I understand the concern, but even were that to be the case, the upshot
for me would be, that it would still be you who would ultimately be
responsible for what goes on the page.

Too many times in the past, you posted beautiful preview pencils of
upcoming books, generating great enthusiasm only for the books to
come out and be a disappointment due to the hands of others.

I’d hate to see that happen again.

Truth to tell, I can also be "meaner" to inkers than I am to myself! I could imagine myself thinking "Oh, I don't wanna have to ink THIS!" and pulling back, whereas I would inflict just about anything on the poor sod who's hired to do the job!

Storm’s “scissor-walk” is really cool - the way you capture motion in characters is fantastic, and it is especially evident in Storm.  She has combination of smooth elegance and awesome, deadly power.

Is that what you did with Alpha Flight?

I think we'd be lucky to get anything. If your original goal was full pencils then that should be the focus. Inking can be a secondary 'itch' further down the line!

edited to add: Also, anyone getting to ink your work is "ell, you, see, kay, wye". And should thank their lucky stars every day.

I can't help it would be amazing to have Terry Austin inks, just for the joy of watching fans heads explode. (The obvious flaw in this plan clicked in my mind the very moment I had finished typing this..)
