Silhouette! Something Stan Lee himself pointed out to me. The action should be recognizable no matter how twisted the figure might be. This is one of the things that made Havoc such a bear to draw!

Tough question. I was going to say "She-Hulk," but that's an easy answer. JB's She-Hulk is the definitive version. so...
I've always loved the way JB uses speed lines. Big white arcs cutting through the air. Coupled with the heft that his figures possess, the sense of mass, it just makes for powerful storytelling.

Marvel characters. They always look exactly as they're supposed to look. The very definition of "on model."
Granted, sometimes the model had shifted -- Cyclops of the All-New, All-Different X-Men didn't look like "Slim Summers" anymore -- but that was Cyclops as I first encountered him, and in any case, 20 years later we got X-MEN: THE HIDDEN YEARS, and there we saw the proper Cyclops!

Most of you know I was ordered to beef up Cyclops to "make him look like a leader." Then, when X-FACTOR came along, the commandment was "He's SLIM Summers!"

Banshee improved the most dramatically as things went on. In the first few new X-Men he was looking like the X-Men #28 model, but slowly he became less cartoonish (although the dialogue was sometimes too cartoonish, och aye so it was) until Sean actually got to be good looking and you could see Moira having a relationship with him. So strange seeing Iron Fist #15 with part Cockrum on some things though, some Wolverine faces are Cockrum and some Byrne, and Phoenix as well. I find it jarring when a character changes a lot from panel to panel without it being some part of the story. I saw that in one of the late '90s/early '00s ones I recently bought and a Ms. Marvel from a few years past that, even the costume changed significantly on her while saving NY from mountains of Super-Skrulls!
I still like the spaceships (and submarines) best. Carmine Infantino drew sideways buildings or lamp shades with rockets on for spaceships; just never warmed up to his.

In both as writer and artist, the personality of the characters... The subtility in the emotions.

I like the "quiet" stuff Byrne does: buildings, people, trees, etc.
A few examples:

That JK4W page is a representation of some of my own favorite inks. Wish they hadn't "gone away".

Many people have mentioned my favorite things about JB art in this thread. I would like to add one: skeletons.
