I would say the link could contain a spoiler, but since it's a picture the director is sharing to promote the movie and will likely be in every promotion, I'd say the spoiler would be the mystery behind the character in the photo:

Not sure why the film is set in the past, still. How could Batman not have known who she was in BATMAN V SUPERMAN, if she continued to fight as a superhero through the years?

Anyway, the film has Patty Jenkins still as the director, so I have some hope for it.

WONDER WOMAN was such a disappointment I cannot conjure any enthusiasm for a sequel. Fool me once...

I wondered about that, Steve.

The answer: "We're going to make another movie based on the previous successful movie that the general audience loved, and we don't care if it contradicts or ignores stupid things from the other, much less successful movie that the general audience did not love."

...knows that its an identical grandson.

Meaning WW1 Steve was either married when he was doinking Diana, or had left some little lady knocked up -- again, while he was doinking Diana.

Hey, maybe it's Diana's grandchild!

Steve Trevor (or is it someone else??) in the publicity photo is sporting a Member's Only jacket. Well, not to be outdone, I share a comparison with you guys of me, rocking a Member's Only jacket (or maybe a knock-off... I don't recall.) from a few years later than the setting for the film. My photo (which I merged with an altered version of the publicity photo) is from about 1988, give or take.

TAKE THAT, TREVOR! YAYY!!!

Steve Trevor, Pre-Crisis, had more comebacks than Sinatra.

They became even more convoluted each time.

Yeah...has to be a grandson. Maybe Steve Trevor had a kid from a previous marriage. The wife divorced him because she couldn't sleep at night, married to a spy. Boo-hoo. Diana was officially Steve's rebound relationship.

Even at a stretch that's a lot better than Steve Trevor being killed in the comics, resurrected by Aphrodite, given a new hair colour and identity as Steve Howard, killed again, and then replaced by a double from another dimension.

Or what DC Comics calls "Tuesday".

*****

As a fellow eighties kid, Matt, I offer you my compliments on the Members' Only jacket. And the mullet!

Personal Milestone Note: I finally got to 2000 posts after just 14 years on the JBF, which I still think of as "the new board." At that rate, I should catch up to Mr. Byrne's post count sometime in the year 2783. That's if JB stops posting today.

Odd picture. The people appear to be posing, not walking.

Maybe the 1984 Diana was an image carved from clay, and imbued with life by dint of Aphrodite to be the champion of her worshipers.

What? Is that so much crazier than being the child of Hyppolyta and Zeus?

I, at one point had in my mind "Why set it in 1984 thats not that long ago?"...then...I had a reality check...

So we skip over 1945 for 1984??  Doesn't sound so special to me.  WW battling Nazi's & Hitler at the end of the war would be my first choice.

JB,

I respect your opinion(s) SO much, it still breaks my heart that WONDER WOMAN disappointed you.

It's weird, Pine looks, to me at least, like he's
photoshopped into that photo.
