Frank Miller's "DK2" had a good moment in it (Yes, really!) where the Atom
became a towering giant — while saving the bottled city of Kandor from a
great menace.

[B[Does that mean the Atom returned to normal human size, and so was perceived as a giant by the citizens of Kandor?

Okay, that's within his skill set.

Ah, perhaps I didn't explain properly. He was like a giant-sized Ultraman — in the city skyline of Kandor.

I've been racking my brain for an answer to this thread, but I'm struggling to come up with anything better than Aurora's costume (which totally worked) and Iron Man's silver centurion armour (which I digged at the time, but is definitely inferior to the classic golden avenger armour).

***

I didn't like the "silver centurion" armor much at the time (1985), but I've seen drawings with modern coloring, and all of a sudden it looks much better to me. It probably shouldn't, but silver makes me think "iron" much more than gold (yellow, in the comics) does.

(Then again the "silver" in 1980s comics was really white.)

I liked the replacement for the "silver centurion" armor also. It was the last one that "felt" the same but had a different look.

After the third issue of WHAT IF? in which Giant-Man wore blue and silver armor, which to me said "iron" much more than red and gold, I suggested to Mark Gruenwald that the redesign of Iron Man's look, to which I contributed, should include that color scheme.

Mark agreed -- and then made it red and silver/white, which looked like a coloring mistake.

I remember that issue of What if and if I recall the blue seemed to me muted. I am trying to picture the silver centurion design in blue and silver. Do you think it would stand out as much as the red?
