I've mentioned before that Marvel's statements have become incredibly precise and detailed. A long way from the days of "Oh, we can't keep track of all that stuff!"

Well, today I received a check for a little over $1,100, attached to a statement 75 pages long! Some of the payments were for as little as 15¢!

WOW... curious.... does the statement cover only your printed work, or other adaptations of your work?

I've seen some music industry things like that, and it too used to be more of a 'trust us' situation with the exact opposite in terms of keeping track. Something like 15 cents sounds like your fraction of some licensing agreement made with a party balloons manufacturer in Boliiva. :^)

I would have loved to see the work that went into all the identification of contributions in the library. Some group of people went through all that licensing and cataloged everyone's contributions so they could make the payments. As JB mentioned, it wasn't necessarily done prior to the purchase of the company.

Will you get a hefty chunk of change for the upcoming X-Men Dark Phoenix movie?  If so, how would your cut be figured out...is it based on the sales of the movie at the theater or a simple percentage based on the character creation?  Regardless, it's nice to see that your contributions are being rewarded.

Time to buy another giant robot; maybe a second Robby with an Altair-4 taxi vehicle around it to idle in the garage... and an Anne Francis to go with it.

Is it possible your page number is so high is because your hand was so prolific in so many different ideas and stories through the 70's and 80's. You and your compatriots from that era were a part of many of the foundations the comics and movies are building upon.

John, if I may be so bold, do you get them quarterly?
My wife gets her royalties or residuals quarterly from
Sag, et. al. I wonder if it works the same way for
comics or you.

Well, at least it was all compiled into just one check!

JB, do you get royalties when your work shows up in a coloring book like this?

Well, that might explain some of the REALLY tiny numbers!

Along such lines, I was in CVS this morning and spotted a Father's Day card using the alternate cover to MAN OF STEEL 1. Lenticular, no less!
