I've also just recently read several Hellboy stories, and was intrigued by the word/picture dynamic of the first series. JB frequently uses the term "art robot" to describe (at least as I understand it) the role of an artist not involved in the plot of a story, and his credit on Hellboy got me wondering if an equivalent role- a script robot, so-to-speak, is possible for a writer; particularly when a character is just being introduced. How much of a character's personality is created and defined in the words he speaks? This is a question I pose to the whole board, but specifically for JB, I'm curious if there's anything interesting you could share about your process of writing dialogue for Hellboy.
