Nobody draws wreckage better than John Byrne.  As proof I submit this cover art from FF #289.

A fantastic cover! Yeah, groans all around, but it is very nice.

Definitely one of my favorite JB "Fantastic Four" covers and stories!

Yep, if you want to see the best looking
trashed environment, pick up a comic by
JB.

"look at that pillar"

I love that JB had it breaking apart into its individual
discs.

As I have said many a time, when I was just starting out I used to wonder what I might become known for. Sci-fi tech? Hot babes? Quiet moments?

Didn't even consider that it might be big piles of broken stuff!

Cringe worthy inks!!

And, today I would almost certainly build a model of that machine, so I could trace it and insure the details remained the same from every angle.

I knew exactly what panel you were talking about without even checking the link! That is one iconic moment -- one among many, of course!

I think George Perez did some really good rubble, but the slag and twisted metal of John Byrne is superior.

Jack Kirby machinery is it's own strange universe and could get overwhelming. Imagine having that as your home decor. I loved when Wally Wood inked that stuff though, what a combination!
