Enjoy your not retirement JB.

It will be a year for me this July, and while it was hard not to have that must do (work) daily routine, I have come to enjoy my time doing what I want when I want.

Enjoy the much deserved time off.

Not a plea for you to attend cons but the
scene is much different now than you recall.
You would be an absolute rock star.

But, see, I didn't go to cons for the adulation, I went for the feedback*, so much more visceral and immediate than LOCs.

In my unemployed state, I have nothing requiring fan imput.

But I do know offhand about 500-1000 of your
online friends that would love to see you. 😉

On a 100% selfish note, I will miss seeing the commissions (and it looks like the window of opportunity passed me by to get my own), but no artist should have to suffer through his art. I can totally appreciate and relate to how JB feels about the superhero comic industry.

Hell, except for JB's IDW work, I haven't bought a comic book in close to a decade. I used to religiously purchase Superman comics on a weekly basis, but they deteriorated so badly into awfulness that I had to break my habit.

So, yeah, I'll miss JB the Comic Book Artist, but I'm looking forward to following his next career, if there is one. If that spark returns, great, if not, well, I have my back issues and memories.

And seriously, JB, it really has been an amazing journey experiencing your work. Your thoughtfulness, passion, and love for these characters really showed in every issue I owned of yours. I can't thank you enough for how you impacted my life through your stories. Enjoy retirement!

Paul is right. Not that we are trying to convince you,
but you would be THE MAN at cons now. And when the new
Phoenix movie comes out, forget it.

I would ask you to visit the Comic Art Con, as a guest,
though. I think you would enjoy it. Then you might
consider appearing there with Jim (and Gary, Bill, et.
al.).

And you would give me reason to attend TerrifiCon in CT
if you ever went local.

I'm enjoying my "unemployment" so much I'm halfway to declaring it retirement!

If nothing else, that would almost certainly guarantee a bunch of new ideas exploding in my brain.

Speaking of new, there may be an announcment of... something coming next week.

Have you ever considered doing a group Patreon with
other legends in your situation?
