Did anyone score anything cool? If there was actually a
participating store in my tiny little town in Nova
Scotia, I'd have climbed over the bodies of dead
relatives for the Bowie double album, but alas, we don't
even have a legit record store, let alone one taking
part in RSD.

My sister scored for me the Led Zeppelin single and the Whitesnake 1987 special edition. For herself she got the U2 and Duran Duran releases. I have a really great sister!

I'd say! That was a nice haul, for both of you.

I get the impression that it`s just an opportunity for
speculators to get hold of limited edition records and
flog them at extortionate prices on Ebay, or am i being
cynical?

Had to work, so I've been checking out what leftovers that shops have...picked
up one of the Bowie releases and the live Doors release. There are a few
others I'm hoping to track down. Another Bowie, U2, and the Twin Peaks at
top of the list.

Bill, you aren't being cynical. While looking for an image online to show someone the Led Zeppelin single, for which my sister paid $10, I saw the item already listed on eBay for $80. I count myself even more lucky to have one now after seeing that.

Mike, i have often looked on Ebay for the odd title as i
am usually working on the day.Yesterday i looked for a
title by a relatively obscure artist called Steven
Wilson, just out of interest. There were loads on Ebay
all at ridiculous prices! Is it speculative punters or
the actual record stores taking the piss?
