Full disclosure, this was followed by a link. Maybe I'm an eternal optimist, but I can absolutely see a reason why Trump doesn't win a second term: the investigations. They started from the moment he took office, which is different from those that took place when Watergate occurred. This man is going to be plagued every day of every month that he sits in the White House.
It may not catch up to him today.
It may not catch up to him tomorrow.
It may not catch up to him in a year.
But it will catch up to him.
It took nearly three years for Watergate to catch up to Nixon. Three years.
People forget that. They think Watergate. Nixon. Gone. But it wasn't that fast at all. It was a long, drawn-out process. And we have to not only understand that, but be prepared for it. Because that's what will happen. That's not only our justice system, it's the road blocks put in place to subvert justice. It's just how the world works, sadly enough.
But to the point about not seeing a reason why Trump won't win in 2020? You're not paying enough attention to the politics of the land separate and apart from national presidential elections. When Dems win seats in states that have been Republican strongholds and when they challenge and win in states that would have otherwise never considered them? Politics is won on the grassroots level not the presidential. Change the states and you change the country.
I'm far more optimistic now than I ever was in 2016.
