JB - I remember years ago in the AOL Marvel Comics Chat you'd been gone for several days and when you came back stated that your "computer had been in hospital". I didn't even know that was an English turn of phrase until then.

It is literally the last of my English/Canadian ticks. Just can't seem to get rid of it!

Roger Stern has often said that comicbook scientists have "a degree in science."

***

Too true. Which is fine for Reed Richards, Victor Von Doom, maybe Lex Luthor. Not fine for Hank Pym.

In the back of my head I have a "finally the truth can be revealed!" story in which we discover that Doom used his mind-transfer technique on Pym, then used it to have "Hank" create Ultron, then hypnotized Hank to believe that he created Ultron all on his own.

Doom did this in the hope that Ultron would destroy the Avengers, allowing him to concentrate on destroying the FF without distractions.

Things didn't go as planned, of course.

I've always assumed Hank and some sort of skill/training in engineering since he invented the cybernetic helmet he uses as GiAnt-Man and the various weapons he uses as Yellowjacket. And he seems to be an expert on ants by default. So Biochemist/Engineer/Entomologist.

Kevin - oops. Coulda sworn she was a physicist, but she so underimpressed me that I barely remembered her anyhow. Maybe I'm thinking pre-Crisis...

Definitely a Marv Wolfman emoting robot in my opinion.
