Despite all my protestations to the contrary, I am once again submitting to an interview for the SYFY channel. This will be in The Big City, and conducted by Mike Avila, who interviewed Walt Simonson and me at the NYCCC last year. I'll let you know when to expect it!

(Of course, outside every silver lining, there's a dark cloud. In this case, altho SYFY is based at 30 Rock, the interview is being conducted at a new studio space they're building several blocks away.)

Looking forward to it, Mr Byrne.

I know this forum, which I enjoy being a member of, is the place for all your thoughts and answers, but, for selfish reasons, there are times I wonder what it'd be like if you had a YouTube page, even if it was only several uploads a year.

I like how he (Mike Avila) interviews people. He seems to, after asking his question, let the interviewee run with it.

Kinda the way all interviews should go.

And today was the day. Talked for about an hour, which Mike assures me will not be cut down to two minutes!

What are these interviews being used for exactly, JB? How was it pitched to you? Is it about Marvel, DC or just comics in general?

JB,

I can't possibly fully relate to your comments on wishing you had not
taken Superman on, having not experienced what you had to go
through at DC.

However, as another little kid who grew up watching George Reeves
crash through walls, I want to thank you for your efforts. As much as I
love the character, I could never read the Silver Age exploits of him
juggling asteroids and snuffing out stars with a sneeze. So your work
on the titles was a very, very welcome change.

Thank you so much.

Now that I've had a chance to watch the interview a couple of times, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the interview. I was surprised how informative it was. Also you're incredibly generous with crediting every idea you used on your Superman run that wasn't yours, JB. And you make a great interview subject. I could listen and watch you talk about your work in comics for hours.

Just curious, JB, if 1985 (86?) John Byrne had listened to 2018 John Byrne, how would his career had played out? What would he have been working on?
