Aside from two bad calls last night, the Caps pretty much dominated the Lightning. First time I've ever seen a high stick call when the player wasn't hit with the stick!

I don't want to jinx anything with a prediction, but I do like the position the Caps have put themselves into. Also, I would love to see a "Moneyball" analysis of the LV Knights. My guess is that the statistics would show why these guys were basically discarded by other teams, but together made such a powerful team.

Too late, they've been jinxed... 4-1 for Tampa Bay in game 3 right now. :^|

Eric,
I can tell you Caps fans HATED losing Nate Schmidt! Bummed the series is at 2-2 now but they're in the same situation that they were two games ago: they need to win two games.

The Jets have gone down so it'll be Las Vegas vs. one of the two Eastern teams for the great cup. I think the Winnpeg Jets had young players playing better than expected, but overall the team still lacks some depth. They did well... maybe next year?

Shawn, Ottawa hated loosing Turris even if he didn't end up with Las Vegas. The notion that Las Vegas is made up of the worst players from other clubs is a bit misleading. I thought Las Vegas and Tampa would be fun to watch in the Cup because it would be two speedy teams. Or I would have liked to see Washington and Winnipeg beat the crap out of each other in the final. As it stands, I am pulling for a Caps vs. Knights Cup. I hope game 7 tomorrow is a good one.

It was a good one for Caps fans! I think that the Caps have the speed to hang with Vegas because they upgraded their speed with guys like Vrana, Stephenson and Burakovsky. Djoos and Orlov have good speed on the blueline. I think that the finals will be pretty fast paced but the Caps do have the physical element to their game that can wear a fast team down. I don't have to tell you that I fear The Flower and what he's been able to do to the Caps over the years.

A long time coming for The Capitals. Very impressive after loosing three in a row to Tampa! I'd rather see Washington hoist the cup than Vegas. Hopefully any jinxes are either off them or they can overcome them. Las Vegas reminds me of reading about the St. Louis Blues going to the final early on stocked with a selection of players from older teams, notably a well known Stanley cup winning goalie.

Vegas is finally starting to look like an expansion team.

Be nice to see the Golden Knights get at least one more win in this series, they had enough skill to make it this far...

An unreal experience last night. In 28 years as fan, it felt like the Stanley Cup was never going to come to Washington!

You can thank me for that! A while back I surfed into a game, watched for a while, and the Caps won. Jim Warden, super Caps fan, noticed this, and reminded me every time a game was on. Every time I was able to watch, they won.

So, of course they won the Stan Lee Cup!!

I'm so happy for Jim and Scott (and the Caps). They
have been waiting their whole lives for this.
