A familiar name:

The likes of HILL STREET BLUES were influential.

In much the same way as I started noticing creator credits on comics, and equating them with quality (like our host), seeing names such as Aaron Spelling and Steve Bochco listed on programmes often led to me enjoying something.

EDIT: Clarity.

I'm a huge fan of the first season of MURDER ONE.

Sorry to hear this; I think he was really talented.

Like Mario, I greatly enjoyed the first season of Murder One, and before that, I also used to regularly watch LA Law and Doogie Howser. I even gave Cop Rock a go. Never got into NYPD Blue though.

Hill Street Blues was an amazing cop show. Never really got into the rest of the shows he was known for. Condolences to his family and friends.

The only reason we got a VCR as kids was because dad wanted to record "Hill Street Blues" the weeks he was out of town.

He created some really great TV shows, that's for sure.

I' meant to add in my earlier post -- Cop Rock even got a mention in an issue of Sensational She-Hulk!

One of those guys who helped make "Must See" TV part of our lexicon.

Loved watching HILL STREET BLUES every week. Certainly a show that was ahead of its time.

Rest in peace, sir... "Let's be careful out there..."
