In the words of Tom Hanks, "He was not Spock, but Spock was his gift to us all."

Last night I was flipping channels and caught the end of STAR TREK III: THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK, and now viewing that scene when Spock came back, no matter how good that felt in the movie, just knowing now that Leonard Nimoy is no longer on this planet just makes me feel so sad.

Ah, when he raised that eyebrow...!

I was following him on Twitter. I enjoyed his tweets. I know Twitter is, 99% of the time, a one-way communication (I doubt Mr Nimoy had time to reply, he probably had hundreds of thousands of messages to sift through), but it felt special. The honour was mine.

I wouldn't presume to compare Twitter to a real-life interaction, but when he passed, I knew that'd be the end of his tweets.
