I teach driving. (Used to teach in the car, but now only in the classroom) They want to build more roundabouts here, but people complain that they are too hard. I think the real complaint is that they have to slow down instead of running the light. Some people really think a light that's been red for a second or two is fine to run!

My school has a remedial class (people are court-ordered to attend) but I won't teach it. I did it a couple of times, but the people in the class are just too scary.

It has been fascinating reading these things. I've never driven in another country, so was unaware how things were.

I did drive in the Outer Hebrides once, things were slightly different.

Sometimes, it seems as if drivers in the USA are just substituting cars for guns. Still big, still noisy, and a GREAT way to kill a lot of people. And it's a lot easier to appear in a Dodge Ram as a bad ass than as a five foot seven accountant in a bad polo shirt...

The only difference is that, while even EASIER, cars were not designed solely with the intent to kill.

And now we have a guy, who hadn't yet passed his driving test, driving without insurance on the way to taking his theory test:

There must be something in the water!

In reply to Steve Myers regarding running red lights, on
roundabouts you are meant to give way(Yield) to traffic
coming from the right, you would not believe the amount
of people who just shoot across without looking, or are
in the wrong lane, but just cut across without
indicating or checking their mirrors!
