I won't provide a "laundry list" here, but share one or two (or more if you want) football shirts that you liked. They don't have to be for teams you support.

I am an Aston Villa fan, by the way.

I like their 1987-88 shirt:

Some people claimed it was not easy on the eye, Well, I liked it. Mita Copiers manufactured photocopiers, by the way.

Liverpool F.C. had a great away kit which I think was around 1989-92. I like the colour:

Candy manufactured domestic appliances.

Football shirts don't get any better than that (in my humble opinion).

I find a lot of modern shirts too busy but I liked this Everton shirt from a couple of years ago which nicely evoked the old sixties shirts.

I'm very fond of the shirt as modelled here by Geoff Hurst:

Though it didn't seem to come in a short-sleeved version, judging by the way Bobby Charlton had to roll his sleeves up.

As a Saints fan, I liked this version of the classic stripes with the red sleeves:

If I could change one thing, it would be that rounded collar for a v-neck design like they had the season before.

Despite my initial choices, let's also praise the Liverpool goalkeeper shirt:

Blech. Let's not. It was like Bruce Grobelaar had been doing a little painting and decorating before heading down to Anfield.

Sorry, to keep harping back to England kits, but as far as goalie shirts go I did like this yellow number from Euro 2000:

(I also liked Shilton's yellow shirt from the 1990 world cup)

On the other end of the scale, there was this clownish number from Euro 96, which was really wretched:

What's wrong with the green goalkeeper kit? ;-) (He may well have been doing painting and directing).

Don't apologise for harping back to England kits. If this thread brings back some memories, I'm all for it. I agree about Shilton's yellow shirt. He was 40-41 during that World Cup. Is there anyone (in the UK) playing at that age now?

The Euro 96 kit is wretched.

Let's not forget Melchester Rovers' kit (when SEGA sponsored them):

Peter, did you live in Britain? Or are you a Canadian very interested in UK football? Just curious.
