That might be true for most of us on this forum, Brian! In this particular case -- because "Born Again" is my single favorite DD story -- I've repeatedly gone through the comics, two TPB versions, and the IDW Edition.

My copy of "Born Again" is a wreck from my having loaned it out so many times.

I once loaned a copy of a script I purchased on eBay to a friend's sister who held onto to it for months, but assured me she hadn't forgotten it. When we finally ran into one another, she proudly produced the script from the trunk of her car, soaked with antifreeze and oil. She didn't want to forget it the next time she saw me, so she'd been driving around with it back there for weeks. She was so happy.

Fortunately, the DD book isn't in that bad a shape, but it's noticeably ragged.

"Born Again" is very possibly Frank Miller's best story in comics. It's certainly his best Daredevil story. Best part: Murdock's rooftop discussion with Captain America about Nuke.

"He wears the flag."

"I hadn't noticed."

I really wanted Miller to start writing CAPTAIN AMERICA right then and there. I realize that giving Steve Rogers pathos over the gap between what America is supposed to be and what it is is a very common theme, but I bet Miller could've worked with it better than anyone before or since.

One of the most expensive reprint mistakes just happened recently in DC's Fourth World by Jack Kirby Omnibus, which has 1481 pages and a cover price of $150.  Page 943, which is page 4 of one of the Jimmy Olsen stories, is actually a duplication of the previous Jimmy Olsen issue's page 4.    DC gave out a .pdf file of the correct page, which can be downloaded.  DC is also doing a corrected volume.  I bought a copy from www.instocktrades.com.  I can get a copy of the corrected volume if I remove the front hardcover of the error copy and send it to them by April 1.   I haven't decided yet if it's worth the effort for the replacement copy.

Are they recompensing for postage, Brandon? I don't know that it would be worth it otherwise.

Blondie was the 1982 equivalent of Doris Day?

••

It wasn't about equivalencies. Just topical references.

This may be a dumb question that everybody else knows the answer to, but which story was that?

••

"Dark Asylum" in GIANT SIZED DRACULA 5.

The replacement will be shipped at no additional shipping charge but I don't think any recompense is done for the cost of shipping the cover back.  Luckily the whole heavy hardcover doesn't have to be sent back!  I'm a little paranoid, though, about sending in the cover.  If it happens to get lost, I wouldn't get a replacement and I'd have ruined my original volume.  I could send the cover back with tracking but that would be an additional cost and it might end up costing around $10 to essentially replace that one page.
