I am required, as part of my destiny, to pick up KISS VS ARMY OF DARKNESS.
Picking up LABYRINTH for a friend.
And sticking with G.I. JOE.

Yeah, it's a fun book. Don't know the point of killing off Snake Eyes and then implanting his memories into someone else, but what the heck.
The sad thing is that part of the joy is simply seeing the number #249 on the cover. It's one of the few books where a company seems to be willing to just let the number tick off as long as it lasts.

Absolutely, Dave. Outside the Big Two, the publishers don't seem interested in that renumbering nonsense.
A high number doesn't in and of itself equate to quality. The 900th issue of a title could be shite, but it does show a sense of history. As a kid, it was a pleasure to pick up BATMAN #309!
So seeing #249 on the cover, well I can understand the joy.

So, to folks who picked up Terrifics, is it a fun homage to classic FF, or is it a mediocre comic with a gimmick roster?

Just realised all three of the books I picked up this week are written by Jeff Lemire.

Dave and Robby,Larry Hama says in the most recent issue of G.I. Joe ARAH that implanting Snake Eyes' memories in Dawn allows him to tell some flashback stories and opens up all sorts of new ideas.
Another reason that I enjoy the book is the consistent art team. SL Gallant's art took some getting used to because I preferred the art of Herb Trimpe, Mike Vosburg, Frank Springer, Rod Whigham, and Ron Wagner over the years but he really hit his groove the last few years. The new artist is a little more detailed but if he stays on, it will continue to show the strength of this book.
