What's interesting about this thread is, ultimately, it makes me realise— even more— how great an artist Kirby was.

There appear to be a LOT of Kirby pencil
only pages around from both Marvel and DC.
Did Kirby request that inkers work on
overlays or were they copied before inked?

Hey Stephen, can you expound on your assumption? In later years Jack had a copier in his home. If I remember correctly, Neal had a job with a copier manufacturer, early in his working career, but perhaps it was someone else. Jack or Roz would copy the pages before sending them to the publisher. |

I don't have a great eye for catching the subtleties of inks the way some of you do, but I think the Kirby/Colletta artwork on Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen is absolutely beautiful.
