Just read at CBR that IDW is coming out with another artist edition that will have our host's work from the X-Men in it. Due out in July.

Definitely on my buy list.

With a July release date, does this mean an SDCC variant cover?

Selfishly, l’m absolutely delighted to see this solicited and look forward
to it’s release.

Looking at the cover, as with the Frank Miller Daredevil Artifact edition,
I can’t help but feel Scott Dunbier missed a beat. Surely both editions
should include the names of Terry Austin and Klaus Janson
respectively.

What elevates these two runs for me is two brilliant comic book
artists/storytellers bringing everything to the work matched by two
amazing inkers/embellishers doing likewise.

I’ve often wondered how the landscape of comics would look today if,
back in the day JB had been paired with Klaus and Frank with Terry.

No disrespect meant to JB with my comments, your work deserves to
be lauded and hopefully we will see more John Byrne volumes in this
format in the near future.

I bet this will be one of IDW's most popular AEs.  The buzz online is incredible.

My wish is we will one day see a Hidden Years AE to match this one.

The "Artifact Editions" are different from the "Artist's Editions". For one thing, they do not contain complete stories.

Just don't want anyone being disappointed!

Cool!

Boring semantic question: why do IDW co-release these collections? It's not important to know, just curious.

A must buy for me! What an inspiring and entertaining run the X-Men team produced... It even edges out Star Wars as the most important piece of entertainment from my childhood.

As always, I must thank the wonderfully talented Mr. Byrne for being a constant inspiration, from Doomsday + 1 to Stowaway to the Stars and all the pages in between... thank you.

Well, maybe not ALL the pages. . . .

But, thanks! :)
