That's amazing! Very VERY Happy for you in this JB! You certainly earned it. And I'm so totally envious of you folks across the pond getting the chance to go. Two living legends on one stage. Wow!

JB: ...That's Bill's idea. Apparently he really likes the series.

**

Is it wrong that I felt the series become a notch more "official" when I read that?

It's so good to see this great work get this kind of attention!

Congrats JB! This is really cool news.
Hopefully I can swing the Boston show. I
already booked the Convention at the Mohegan
Sun the weekend after. I'm going to try and
do both.

Boston, we'll see what my schedule will allow...

Hmm.   Hmm, hmmm, hmmm.  The Boston Con is the weekend right after my birthday, and it's only about a 2-hour drive from where I live.

Dare I treat myself to a birthday present...?

We are referring to Boston, Lincolnshire, right? East coast of the UK? About 90+ miles from the Midlands?

Yes?

Yes. What great news! :)
Hoping I can score one of those sweet (sounding)
ST:NV Omnibuses - given that I can`t get to the USA
for the Convention ;)

Sorry to hear about your puking, it`s not fun, as I know from last month.
I really enjoy your posts on the forum!
Your TNG rewatch has been a recent fave :)
Get well soon Greg!

Nice.

Wrath of Khan and Search for Spock are still my favorite
Star Trek movies.

Millions in advanced special FX still can't beat those
two.

I should make up and post here a JBF MEMBER badge that those of you planning to attend can print out and wear. That would avoid those awkward moments when my brain doesn't register the spoken name as it does the printed one!

John, are you going to be signing books there and if so, will you be signing all your work, or focusing only on Trek-related books?

Signing TREK only, unless I find myself with "down time" to set up on my own.

Either way, the old rules will apply: maximum of ten autographs per person/family per day.

Thinking about this while at work today, I couldn't imagine a scenario where I don't stammer like a fool and 'flub my lines'.
I think the JBF badges would be helpful (and an excellent artifact to have autographed)!

Congratulations, JB! That's awesome for so many reasons!
Cannot imagine the excitement at getting a call from Mr. Shatner.
I was lucky enough to meet him here in DC a couple of years ago. He signed a photo for me and I babbled about how, as a kid, I'd make my friends play Star Trek so that I could be Kirk. 'Cause I thought he was the coolest.
He smiled and asked, "Did you win?"
Told him we beat the Klingons a lot and did okay against the Romulans. He seemed to like that.
Way to go! Wish I could make it to Boston...
Don't suppose a trip further south is possible...?

Once again I must note that these two trips do not mean I am returning to the convention circuit.

(When I told Walt Simonson about this his immediate response was "Who are you, and what have you done with John Byrne?!")

Very cool news! I wish I could make it to that convention. It's still a few months ahead, though,  so there's always a chance...
