Day Two. Two and a half hours until the Con opens. The most boring part of the day.

Your work has meant so much to so many of us - I know the thrill that the fans are feeling with you being there.  Itís really great you took this trip.

And good to hear you visited Dealy Plaza - I went years ago and it had a big impact on me.  I read much about both JFK and RFK, so I had a lot invested when I went.  I guess we all bring pre-conceived notions to historical sights.

Uneventful day. Signed many, many books. Met Phil LaMarr, who turned out to be a very knowledgeable fan. Brief encounters with John Barrowman and Rainn Wilson.

What a fun time! JB was great, at his panel on Saturday he was spinning his tales as only he can talking about many of his past runs and diving into his some of plans for X-Men Elsewhen... MAN I HOPE THIS GETS PUBLISHED!

I got to spend a bit of time with Paul and Cory, Johnís longtime Canadian friends from Johnís earliest days at Marvel. I chatted with IDWís super nice Chris Ryall and thanked him for giving JB a venue to entertain us with Next Men, Trio, Triple Helix etc..

It was nice to hear the excited fans in line speak so fondly of their favorite runs of Johnís and see how excited they were to meet him ..Good times were had by all!

General Review:

Good con. Huge space. Wide aisles for a change (tho fans still need to learn to think in 360 degreesóand to walk in the direction their eyes are facing).

Fans polite and eager. I still delight in the explosion of joy on their faces when they realize Iím not charging for my autographs. (Shatnerís agent was working very hard to convince me I should and, yes, even if I charged as little as $5 a pop, I know I could make a ton of money. But as I said to fans who asked why I donít charge, I figure Iíve already taken enough money out of their wallets!)

Quick notation of celebrities met: Phil LaMarr, Sean Astin, John Barrowman, Patricia Summersett, Rainn Wilson, Mia Farrow. (She and I had a long chat, by virtue of her handler being a fan. And then we ended up sitting together on the flight back to NYC. We got on famously. Fun!)

Now, back to life in my version of the real world!
