And as far as accents go, it seems the two hardest accents for Americans to do are English (any region) and southern U.S.

I'm not sure I can get behind this, as I've never even heard a US actor attempt a Welsh or a Kiwi or a Danish accent. I would normally suggest that TV actors simply don't have the time to invest in regional accents, but then you have Rose Leslie and Liam Cunningham in Game of Thrones offering, respectively, utterly convincing Manc and Georgie accents, despite neither being English.

That said, I suppose GoT is not your average run TV show.
