I'll speak for myself, but to have a discussion about anything one must give a reason more than just "I don't wanna".  So while I, of course, understand that not everything is someone's cup o' tea, if they speak up in a thread to say "I don't wanna" I at least expect to hear why.  Why don't you want to see it, as it's not obvious to everyone.

Diversity of opinion is all fine and good, but it doesn't just mean saying "no" when someone else says "yes".  That's not diversity.  Defend your position so that others understand, otherwise it's just another "no" that is easily ignored in a thread obviously celebratory about a specific subject.

Matt,

If you don't allow for a diversity of opinion in a thread then the thread just becomes an "amen corner" - do you REALLY want THAT?

Marc

I'll add that if you never saw the first film and have no intention of seeing the sequel, then saying that your "opinion" about the merits of the film carries just as much weight as those who have seen it (good or bad) is just wrong.  Not having seen the first makes me question why you'd even speak in a thread about the sequel considering you have no ground upon which to stand. Far, far, FAR from an "amen corner". You admittedly know nothing about the franchise but nonetheless feel well equipped to claim someone isn't accepting your differing opinion...how?  Why?  Based on...what exactly? And then have the gall to play the "diversity" card?

Seriously?

Hmmmm, diversity of opinion? I have witnessed a similar
thing on a closed Prog Rock group, someone actually
joined and then proceeded to say why they didn`t like
it! Isn`t life too short to offer opinions on
topics/sites they have no interest in?

P.S. I`m just off to join a Rap site and tell them why i
hate it!

As a "comic book guy", I get asked by everyone why I haven't seen Deadpool. My brother is surprised because he knows that Colossus is my favorite member of the X-Men. I just don't like the character. That said, I will defend the spot-on costume and characterization based on the trailers. My brother has the blu ray of the first one so you never know...

Marc, as mentioned by Matt R, you haven't actually offered anything more substantive than "I hate Deadpool." You admit you haven't seen the first film. Naturally,  your allowed to not want to see it, but if your criticism amounts to little more than "I hate Deadpool," then what is the point of commenting other than to be negative?

I mentioned in other threads before, when this topic comes up, that I don't feel compelled to go to the sports message board and post "I hate sports" just because I am not a fan. In fact, I avoid that area precisely because I am not a sports fan.

New (final) trailer.  This looks hilarious. It may be as entertaining as the original:

Though, it makes me feel even worse for the rough treatment my beloved Fantastic Four gets in the movies when SHATTERSTAR seems pretty faithful to the comics version.  Only thing they could have done better is if his hands and feet were weird...

I will go and see this movie for the universe joke in the trailer alone.

The first movie was a good, no nonsense, entertaining film. I have found a few people that didn't like it, but these are the same people that didn't like Mad Max: Fury Road. I am looking forward to DP2 as it will be a movie without a moral message and only ask me to enjoy myself while watching. Perhaps my disconnect from the character from comic books is a boon.

I have a friend who I usually see all the comic book movies with really wants me to see Deadpool 2 with him*. I watched the first and thought it was entertaining so I guess I'm in for the sequel.

*my wife isn't a fan except the Captain America and Avengers movies.

I know several people who have already seen advance screenings, so I'm going to be proactive and put a SPOILER WARNING in the thread title.  No need to use inviso-text from here on out.

Ye have been warned!!!

I'll be seeing it Thursday night. I've been hearing good early reviews, so I am hopeful it will be as fun as the first one.

I saw the first movie on in-hotel-room HBO last year, and a near-uncut version on cable TV last month.

Definitely fun, but I'll stick with the same strategy.

Already got tickets to see this with my younger sister, for a 9pm Friday night showing... at a multiplex sandwiched between two noted Western Mass. college towns...

I fully expect a particularly raucous crowd--which will either be immensely annoying, or play well to DEADPOOL 2's strengths!

Like Bill, I'll wait until it comes out cable/Netflix.  I did enjoy the first one, but not enough to actually go out to the theater and pay to see it.

I enjoyed the new film. For me, it's on a par with the first one.  Naturally,  if you hate Deadpool and the first film, you won't like it -- and why are you in this thread, if you do hate the character or the first one?

There are some cool surprises, and some fun in-jokes, and over-the-top action. Be sure to remain seated through for a couple of mid credits scenes,  but you don't need to stick it out to the very end of the credits. And, as with the first one, this is not an appropriate film for young children.

I'm guessing the first two bits of the end credits are canon? It's get very meta-jokey as it continues, so it's hard to tell.

SPOILERS

I liked most of it, but as a Colossus fan, I really
wanted that fight to be a lot better than it was. His
fight in the first film had more impact and intensity.

Thought it was very good, not great, but still a better sequel than I was expecting.  Some big laughs, though not as consistent as the first film.

If you liked or loved the first one, there's no reason to not see Part 2.

(I guess my one big disappointment is that, while Zazie Beetz is absolutely gorgeous as Domino, I found her performance oddly flat and lackluster  Not terrible, just... there.)

For what they were doing with the character (I’ve never cared for the comic version, who is mostly a cipher used by artists to draw chick with gun poses), I thought she was hilarious. Having a character who relied on her luck powers just skipping around carefree was a great counterpoint to Deadpool’s frenetic energy and Cable’s intensity.

Thanks for the name, Shaun.

I saw the movie early today, and (for the most part) enjoyed it. I immediately
guessed who was being held in maximum security, but was disappointed in
how he was portrayed. I also don't care for the way Colossus is portrayed.

We can spoil now, right?  It's Juggernaut.  We'll have to agree to disagree. I thought that was a pitch perfect portrayal of the character.
