    • Jaguars at Patriots - Would love an upset, but it's hard to bet against the Pats at home in a playoff game.
    • Vikings at Eagles - I was scared of the Saints.  I'm not of the Eagles.  SKOL VIKINGS!!!!!

I'm going to pick who I want to see in the Super Bowl:

    • Jaguars at Patriots
    • Vikings at Eagles

Patriots will possibly win, but I really do not want to see them in another SB...

I don't usually participate in the "Pick "Em" thread, but I have to support my birds...

    • Jaguars at Patriots (It'll be interesting if the Jaguars manage to win, do they somehow make mention of it in THE GOOD PLACE?
    • Vikings at Eagles

    Jaguars
    Vikings

If we end up with Patriots vs. Eagles, I may not even watch the game.

(Jags vs. Eagles or Patriots vs. Vikings would be fine, but in a Patriots-Eagles matchup, I'd want both teams to lose!)

Interesting fact that might only interest me:  If the Jags beat the Patriots this Sunday, it'll be the first time Brady would have lost vs. the Jags.  He's 7-0 against them.

The thing is, defense wins championships.  Hence the reason I suspect there will be a Jags/Viking SB this year.

Also, the AFC team is the "home" team, but that just means they can pick what uniform they want to wear.  Regardless of who the NFC champ is, they'll be using the Vikings' locker room.  So no worries, Matt, your team won't be told to vacate their digs!

The best thing the Eagles have going for them is that they're still around.  Seriously.  Foles now has some play time under his belt and the sting of losing Wentz didn't kill them.  Yet.  I'm kinda mad at them for winning and us missing out on the madness that would be Minnesota for the NFC championship and, no matter who wins that, the Big Show.

All that matters to me is New England doesn't win another game this postseason.

Jags Vs. Patriots - The vaunted Jags' defense just gave up 42 in their last 3 quarters versus NE's 14 all game and that 28 point difference is the exact spread between NE's 296 regular season points allowed and Jacksonville's 268.  NE's O and D line aren't perfect, nor is their "bend but don't break" secondary but both aspects have improved significantly in the second half.

Eagles Vs. Vikings Minnesota has found a bunch of surprising ways to win this year and sometimes that's enough.

I'm taking Vikings and Jags. Cause it would be cool.

The only good thing I can say about New England is I  still loathe Dallas more.

No Gronk.  Injured thumb.  Down 10 with 9 minutes to play in the 4th.  The greatest QB in history does it yet again... great game.

Amazing. Eagles utterly dismantled & destroyed the Vikes. Hoping
they can avoid a crushing by NE. Not what I expected today.

Both teams I wanted in the Super Bowl lost. To the two teams (out of the entire frickin' league, not just the playoffs) that I least wanted in the Super Bowl.

    *sigh*

Puh-lease.  The Jags committed a bunch of obvious pass interference fouls and some got called.  What call did you disagree with?  I heard no complaints from anyone, including the Jags coach at the end of the game.

Brady was the real difference plus Amendola's clutch catches (the 3rd and 18 catch, the sweet 2nd TD reception in the back of the end zone with no room.)   And Bortles' inability to move the team down the field in the final 2 minutes when they had a shot.

Scoreboard tells the story.  The rest is just crying in your beer.

The Jags practically handed them the win, with all the penalties.

I hate the Patriots, but I'm so over people calling them cheaters.

However, I'm also over Pats fans would think they're the greatest franchise ever.

ALL of their Super Bowl wins have been close games. Call me when they blow somebody out.

Their last two wins can be attributed to a last second bad decision (not handing Lynch the ball) and luck.

You can't really compare teams of different eras, but I think any of the 49ers (with Montana at QB, definitely; Young *maybe*) or 70's Steelers championship teams would defeat them easily. And guess what? I hate d those teams, too!

Calls I disagree with: The PI right before the half was a horrible call.  The holding on the fleaflicker by the Pats was obvious but ignored. After the fumble recovery, why was the whistle blown? Should have been a return.

And the main reason everyone calls the Pats and Brady cheaters is...everyone knows they cheat!

Yeah, I hated the 49ers back in the day, too. Hated Elway too, and now I'd call him the greatest ever. He won with good and bad teams.

Bouye made tons of contact with Cook way beyond the 5 yard halo (about 30 yards downfield!) and pushed him out of bounds nearly a second before the ball arrived?  Pass Interference.

The holding on the fleaflicker by the Pats was obvious but ignored.

There is holding on almost any play when the QB stands there for more than two seconds, including plenty of times when Bortles stood in the pocket with time, but I don't see anything that rises above the usual on that play.  What I notice there is that the Pats had seven men guarding a scant four pass rushers, which far from cheating is just good play design.

After the fumble recover, why was the whistle blown?  Should have been a return.
    *****
I'm not sure what you mean.  There was one play where the refs stopped the clock when there should have been a run-off, is that what you mean?  If so, I agree.  But it wasn't the difference in the game and mistakes are made in every game.

the main reason everyone calls the Pats and Brady cheaters is...everyone knows they cheat!
    *****
So you're saying the Pats somehow bought off the refs in some massive conspiracy?  Riiiiiiight.  I say the Jags committed a bunch of obvious pass interference penalties which were called and it cost them the win.  It was a good, close game but Brady delivered at the end and Bortles didn't.  The End.

I thought Bortles played a pretty good game and should have had 1 more shot at it if the Jags D could've stopped the obvious run near the end.
