This seems to be one of those situations that will solve itself. Enough people drink it... a large percentage get really sick (or, dreadfully, worse)... and they stop doing it. I think it's equivalent to approaching a horse from behind, or barnstorming.

Darwin's gonna win this one.

If raw water catches on, the beverage companies will figure out how to bottle it for a mass market.  But I bet it will be too costly to dredge for that much actual slop - they will figure out how to recreate the taste using artificial sweetners.  Well, maybe not “sweetners” - I guess it would be something like “artificial dysentery”.

The self-cleaning oven -- tho I do worry about children being subjected to this by moronic parents.

I assume it's being consumed only by those pushing intelligent design.

Nah, too much to hope for.

From the people who brought you the anti-vaccine trend, here's some raw water for you to enjoy, for your health.

In our emergency kits at my school, we have tablets and filters to protect us from "raw water."

I suppose it provides a nice contrast to those tasty Tide pods the kids are snacking on these days.
And anything that would give Oprah just enough diarrhea to not run for President is fine with me.

I guess the lessons of cholera have been forgotten by most.

RIP John Snow (not the guy from GoT).

Perhaps those who survive drinking it toughen up the gene pool in the long run. Hands up who wants to benefit public health in that way!

If you charge enough for something, suckers WILL buy it
`Because they`re worth it`

I recall a news item where a divorced father had his
children every weekend and took them out for pizza
etc, they kept being ill,he later found out that their
mother had put them on a gluten free diet for no good
reason, failing to inform him,and made them gluten
intolerant.

That reminds of when my kids were babies, the prevailing practice was to not feed them any foods containing peanuts until they were toddlers.
"Experts" thought this would reduce the chances of getting an allergy. I was skeptical thinking just the opposite, but bowed to their expertise.

Recently the National Institute of Health reported that introducing babies 4-6 months old to peanuts can actually reduce the risk of getting the allergy.

I knew it!!

Animals cope with everything so much better than we do.

But we're made in the image of the Creator of the Universe?!

Doug,i suspect that if expectant mothers eat peanuts
their offspring will be tolerant to them.

Akin to the tale of Prometheus.

There was no more fur or claws to give the humans to protect themselves, so Prometheus gave them the fire of the gods.

That "fire of the gods" ended up being really useful for purifying water too!

I would love to hear the pseudoscience "logic" behind this incredibly stupid idea. I wonder how long anyone could keep a straight face while some idiot explained how civilization and health all went downhill after the potable water "movement" was implemented by the shadow government.

Fear of technology -- vaccines, water purification, etc -- is potentially a major problem.
