One of my favorites, well two are in the same issue in Adventures of Superman 440.

Batman is on top of a building in a classic Batman pose, but he thinks, "I don't like standing here idle."

Then the second one comes from Superman about Batman, "Maybe I should have enlisted the help from the world's second greatest detective!"

I'm terribly old(-fashioned), so I can't help but think of this. (JB, after you bought a house, did you say this? If not, I must wonder why not.)

Ah, the infamous instance of a piece of scrap paper on the black plate giving Doom a buck tooth! Makes me read his pronouncement as "THITH LAND ITH MINE!"

••

You might be surprised by the number of Bat-fans who took offense at that line! Completely missing the context of the scene, they took it to read that Batman was LESS than the second greatest.

sigh

“I may be a criminal lunatic, but I'm an AMERICAN criminal lunatic!”

Five cool points to the first JBF member to name the speaker and provide
context.

Twenty to any person who can find and post the panel!

Love it, Wallace. A guy must be an ass if even the Joker hates him.

JB: "Ah, just switch to Velcro!"

I took lessons to learn how to use it, but they never stuck with me.

I can't quite remember what issue of Mr. Byrne's FF run it came from, but I have always thought it was a great zinger that I wanted to use on someone else.

Dr. Doom once again has the FF in his clutches and Reed makes the comment that Doom is in control of the situation and the FF are at his mercy.

To which Doom makes the following snide remark (paraphrasing):

"As usual, your grasp of the obvious is flawless."
