(Speaking only for myself, I found that the few problems or annoyances that I may have had with the original GUARDIANS--a film that my family and I genuinely like!--somehow got ramped-up to 11 for VOL. 2.  Plus, as a father who likes to bring his son to most of the Marvel movies, I found the overall humor and language to be unnecessarily juvenile and crude.  The film just didn't do it for me.  Great song choices, though.)

I didn't really hate any movies I saw this year (a rarity), but ATOMIC BLONDE was the most disappointing. The trailer made it look better than it actually was, and there was too much padding and scenes just standing around talking.

And I'm already looking forward to JOHN WICK CHAPTER THREE, whenever it gets made.

Hate? Really? Isn't that a lot of energy to expend on a movie? Isn't "dislike" enough?

I call it BATMAN BEGINS Syndrome. The first film had a few moments I did not like, but overall was just fine. But once Mr. Director was off the leash. it turned out those moments were the true reflection of his "vision".

Huh. Somehow you guys have just articulated exactly how I felt about the first two Sam Raimi Spider-Man films. As I honestly never understood the love for the second film. To me it's everything wrong with the Raimi-Maguire approach to Spider-Man writ large.

So perhaps the old saying is true. The more things change, the more they stay the same! (Or at least as far as comic book films are concerned at any rate.)
