Don’t forget that SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN issue. It’s in an Essential volume, but don’t think it’s in anything else.

Did Roger Stern write that one? If so, there's been an omnibus and some paperback's collecting his Spider-Man comics.

Also - we need : Marvel - Lost Generation in TPB.  ... Shhhhh! That one seems to be forgotten. Probably the only thing that's kept it from being pillaged and burned.

I loved that series.  It was one that could be read the way it was published (or the other way around) - both approaches made total sense.  The only problem with it - and probably why I would classify it as "an imaginary story" - was that the hard timelines make it difficult to put into the marvel timeline, as our heroes and marvel characters are actually aging at a much slower rate (if at all).

Making it "an imaginary story" much like the Batman Superman Generations tales makes sense as the timeline evolves on its own terms.  Now, keep in mind that John and Roger Stern never defined the story as such.  I'm just looking at this in hindsight.

Collected John Byrne - set of one! Collect him all! ;)

Phil K. - Hard timelines? I don't remember too many specific dates in Lost Generation... the Apollo 9 launch, the assassination of JFK... did I miss others? I thought that, while there were eras specified, no actual dates were cited. But I could be wrong.

On the already collected John Byrne front, if any forum members live near a Books-a-Million, check out their bargain TPB section. I got the thick Epic Captain America Dawn's Early Light which, I believe has the whole Stern/Bryne Cap run included (as well as some Mike Zeck issues I noted while flipping through it at BAM, issues collected are Cap #247-266 and annual #5) which had a 35 dollar cover price for 10 bucks. Also got the X-Men/Alpha Flight collection which has some JB X-Men issues (the ones featuring Guardian and Alpha Flight obviously, 109, 120-121) which was 30 dollar cover price for 6 bucks. And I also noticed they had Starbrand vol 2 which are the Byrne issues, for 10 bucks. Not sure what the cover price is on that, but these are some pretty great deals for new copies of collected JB TPBs. I plan on getting the Starbrand collection when I have some Christmas money to spend in a couple of weeks. I already have all these individual issues but it's nice to get them for the book shelves.

Also I really want a collected Marvel: Lost Generation and Generations 3, too. Make it so, Marvel and DC.

Reprints of Lost Generation and the entire Generations saga, in one book, would be wonderful; add OMAC and Batman 3D while we are at it.
