Anyone playing?  I liked the immersiveness of SWBF1, and have played it regularly since it launched.

The new game is just as immersive, but with a lot more single player content.  The multiplayer battles I've participated in were pretty fun, but I found some of them to be a little too cacophonous.  I run run run to get to where the fighting is then get killed in two shots.  Then I run run run to get back only to get killed again.

They made a big deal after the beta of "listening" to the fans and revamping the loot crates, but there is still ample opportunity for people to pay to progress.  Big spenders will be better earlier and rule the battlefield until the rest of us schmoes catch up.

The single player campaign has been enjoyable so far.  A good mix of flying, ground fighting, sneaking around, that sort of thing.  I just don't like playing a Imperial zealout as my "hero" too much.

Yeah, some of the people who combat roll all over the place and have the loadouts down to a science are a handful.  I'm usually middle of the pack with occasional games where I land in the top one or two. (usually if I can get a hero or an AT-AT).

Haven't bought it, but read a review of STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT II in sci-fi magazine STARBURST. And reviews elsewhere, too.

Seems various reviewers, and governments, have had problems with microtransactions and loot boxes.

The website eurogamer.net reported on it:

 QUOTE:
In that time the fallout caused by Star Wars Battlefront 2 loot boxes has widened. The Belgian Gaming Commission waded in, as did Hawaii State Representative Chris Lee, who publicly denounced EA's game as "a Star Wars-themed online casino designed to lure kids into spending money."

The STARBURST review had this to say:

 QUOTE:
Battlefront II isn't a video game. This is something crafted to prey upon those with gambling addictions, disguised in a veneer of science fiction nostalgia.

To be fair, they eliminated the micro-transactions almost right away.  Now you have to grind for points to buy your crates.  You can also unlock abilities without the crap-shoot aspect by using crafting parts (earned by accomplishing various challenges and also in crates).

I am pretty much enjoying the game a lot now.  They really made ship dogfighting a lot better.  (I hated it in SWBF1).  I am not a super good player, but I've managed to get my classes all in the 30s and 40s and have unlocked some of the better equipment.
