What more is there left to say?

I'm angry so I would say to US lawmakers, FUCK your prayers and do something practical.

Ted Cruz, Paul Ryan, Lindsey Graham and so many others offered the usual platitudes about prayers being with the victims. What good are fucking prayers? I'm sorry for the anger - it's not a trait I enjoy - but I would be so tempted to scream in their faces in protest at the victims.

In fact, and maybe this will sound absurd, I find their platitudes insulting. And if I do, then I'm certain the victims' families find them even more insulting. Very insulting. What can be more insulting than men in suits, with power, offering you prayers and platitudes. And talking about 'god' being with them.

Those lawmakers should stay silent. Or simply tweet, "Thoughts with the victims." But thoughts and prayers? No. Because prayers and 'god' are NOT working, nor are they the solution.

I am fed up of seeing this on the news on a regular basis. When the UK had a mass shooting (Scotland, 1996), it hit a lot of people hard. I did not know the victims or their families, but it was a time when I could not help but cry. And we toughened gun laws up. There has been gun crime since, but no mass shootings to my knowledge. I wish the US could act. NRA and GOA be damned!

But I fear the worst: people like Alex Jones will talk about baseball bats and iron rods being used to kill people, there'll be the usual false equivalency with automobile accidents, talk about people rather than guns being the killers - and other crap. I am sick of it. I'm sure many of you are.

Take care, Americans. I know that may be a platitude, too, but it's meant with utmost respect and sincerity.

Our lawmakers have so much faith and prayers, but absolutely no guts at all.

Very true. It hits people hard each time. And whilst I would NEVER speak for the victims' families, I wonder if they too are fed up with tweets about prayers. I would find it insulting.

Has a US politician ever tried to put the ball back in the court of the NRA, GOA, etc? Perhaps saying something like, "I want you to take equal responsibility and I want you to work with us to provide solutions to this." Because I haven't noticed if they have.

This is the new normal. Thank the gun manufacturers and their lobby, the NRA.

Nationalize the bastards so they can stop profiting off of human misery. Immediately.

What a hell of a way for people to find out that a god doesn't exist.  'Cause if he did, no way this happens.

This tragedy brought to you by chicken shit politcians bought and paid for by the NRA. Acceptable losses to them in order to remain "free" in America. (Hey Trump, how about "EXTREME VETTING" on those who buy guns??) Texas and Nevada are open carry states with high percentages of gun ownership... and are now home to American's most recent double-digit mass killings, each time by a lone gunman.

This hasn't been a good year for the "good guy with a gun" theory.

Remember, it’s still too soon to talk about gun control.

I find the difference in reaction to each of these events when compared to the reaction to one terrorist event to be depressing. One terrorist event and ‘Whoa, we must increase extreme vetting. See, I was right’

These? ‘Our Thoughts and prayers for this tragic incident’

Idiots. The whole flaming lot of them.

Get off your backsides and LEAD

Trump has also said he believes the shooting was the product of a mental health problem and not gun control.

Isn’t radical terrorism the product of a mental health problem under that definition?

Just saw a photo of the automatic weapon he used,NO
civilian should be allowed to own such a weapon, then i
see he was shot and killed by a civilian who`d been told
what he`d done. What if the civilian had shot some
innocent motorist? Mental health as an excuse from
Trump? We all have bad days, some of us who lose it,might
berate or punch someone who annoys/offends us,but having
automatic weapons,or any gun at our disposal is a recipe
for disaster.
