Nightcrawler1) Visually a good fit 2) His Catholic faith would've been an interesting thing to play off of 3) It was at one point established that when he teleported he was going through Belasco's dimension. Maybe the Defenders need some sort of help getting in and out of there

Daredevil was also instrumental to the Defenders against the Sons of the Serpent, during his appearance in Defenders #22 - 25. Clea contacted him as a back up member... I think he was considered a "reserve" member.
This is also one of five times that Daredevil first meets Luke Cage. Yes, five times... if my math is right.

You've certainly come up with some great choices, folks.
I think some characters are better suited to the Defenders, particularly loner ones. The day Nick Fury or Iron Man shows up to be a Defender, well the "outsider" status of the group will have been diluted. ;-)

The Super-Skrull

Anyone remember me posting this:

And try to make them heroes - or at least not total villains. I realize some heroes blur the lines, but I'm not sure Punisher would ever be invited to be a Defender. |

I am glad you are kidding. I know Marvel likes to "reform" villains, but Super-Skrull is a bad dude!
