Oh, OK,

Dr. Gregory "Nicknames Lie. EVERYbody Lies!" House

Dr. Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce(Dr. B.J. Hunnicut would be my least favorite)

McCoy is not allowed, perhaps because if he were, everybody would have picked him.

Though the question was "Who is your favorite TV doctor," I kept thinking also about which doctors I actually would trust to treat me, so that influenced my choices:

"Hawkeye" Pierce
Joe Early (Like Ted, I'm an "Emergency!" fan. I could have picked Kelly Brackett, but I think Joe had a better bedside manner.)
Kerry Weaver ("E.R.")(Robert Romano? Really,Gregory?)

I think "House" is an interesting character and show, but I've often thought how it must feel to be one of his patients. Though the cases were strange enough to merit an unorthodox approach, he always seemed to be using trial and error!

(Robert Romano? Really,Gregory?)

He operated on his dog in the ER...how can you not like that?

At some point in the treatment of nearly every single one of House's patients, his unorthodox approach has him overpowering everyone in his path to somehow administer a medicine or procedure no one else thinks will work... And the patient very nearly dies as a result. Everyone else then looks at House and basically asks, "Now will you stop?" and he continues ahead at a dead run, scowling or smirking, saying, "Well, now we know it WASN'T what I thought it was! We can cross that off our list!"

I'd rather not be treated by someone who's supremely comfortable with killing me to find out what DOESN'T work on the way to finding something that does.

Well, I missed that one, Gregory. That is endearing. The characters on "E.R." were pretty complex, with the annoying characters occasionally likeable and the popular characters sometimes doing questionable things.
