Here's last week's bye teams.  Sorry about the omission!

  • Dolphins at Falcons

  • Bears at Ravens

  • Browns at Texans

  • Packers at Vikings

  • Lions at Saints

  • Patriots at Jets

  • 49ers at Redskins

  • Buccaneers at Cardinals

  • Rams at Jaguars

Thursday, October 12

  • Eagles at Panthers

Sunday, October 15

  • Dolphins at Falcons

  • Bears at Ravens

  • Browns at Texans

  • Packers at Vikings

  • Lions at Saints

  • Patriots at Jets

  • 49ers at Redskins

  • Buccaneers at Cardinals

  • Rams at Jaguars

  • Steelers at Chiefs

  • Chargers at Raiders

  • Giants at Broncos I'll be attending the game, and seriously looking forward to it, but this is not Big Blue's season. OBJ and Marshall are out for the season, Eli is not playing his best and now has fewer reliable targets, and I'm less than impressed with the coaching. This is a realistic pick, but I'll be happy to be wrong.

Monday, October 16

  • Colts at Titans

Panthers

Falcons
Bears
Texans
Packers (hope I'm wrong!)
Lions
Patriots (Wish I would be wrong, but won't be)
Redskins
Cardinals
Rams
Chiefs
Chargers
Broncos

Titans

Seeing that the Browns are not on their schedule, I am done picking the Giants this season, unless a team they face suffers catastrophic injuries.

Thursday, October 12

§ Eagles at Panthers  Coin flip. Panthers.

Sunday,October 15

§ Dolphins at Falcons  This has all the earmarks of a blowout.

§ Bears at Ravens  I believe in Trubisky, plus Travathon is back.

§ Browns at Texans  Even without JJ Watt, the Texans are too much for the Browns

§ Packers at Vikings  Viqueens were thisclose to losing against an injury ravaged Bears team.

§ Lions at Saints  I smell upset.

§ Patriots at Jets  No way I would take the Jets, BUT I suspect this game will be very close.

§ 49ers at Redskins  I never like taking a west coast team on the east coast.

§ Buccaneers at Cardinals Just taking the home team here, plus Adrian Peterson is now a Cardinal.

§ Rams at Jaguars  Again, west coast team, east coast stadium…

§ Steelers at Chiefs  Big Ben doesn’t care any more, and it’s showing in his play.

§ Chargers at Raiders  If Carr plays, I go Raiders, but Chargers till then.

§ Giants at Broncos  LOL! Giants are in such disarray. Meaning they could win this one… Doubtful, but could.

Monday,October 16

§ Colts at Titans  I wonder if the Veep shows up again for all of 2 minutes to give the Colts more incentive! No? Oh, well, Titans then.

Still jetlagged after being overseas the last two weeks, so all I can muster is

Eagles at Panthers  Both 4-1 but Carolina feels more real with recent wins at New England and Detroit.

I'm out of town for the weekend starting tomorrow, so you get all my picks in one post Hagerman!

Thursday, October 12

  • Eagles at Panthers - Everyone is on one bandwagon or the other.  Picking the Eagles this season hasn't done me wrong yet.

Sunday, October 15

  • Dolphins at Falcons - Off a bye. At home. Cutler is a mess.

  • Bears at Ravens - Easy pick.

  • Browns at Texans

  • Packers at Vikings - No matter how good or bad the teams are, it's a rivalry.  More often than not, we swap wins during the regular season.  We're at home.  I have faith!  SKOL VIKINGS!!

  • Lions at Saints - I don't think Stafford will play.  He might gut it out, but a couple hits on that ankle will take him out.

  • Patriots at Jets

  • 49ers at Redskins

  • Buccaneers at Cardinals - Everyone keeps picking the Cards.  I don't get it.  They beat the dreadful Colts and Niners by a combined six points.  Those are their wins this season.  No faith in this team even with an aged AP who will struggle to find his place on his new team with less than a week of practice.

  • Rams at Jaguars - If this is a shootout, which the Rams are playing more of this season, then Bortles is about as equipped to win an NFL game with his arm as I am.

  • Steelers at Chiefs - Something is off in Pittsburgh.  Whether it's Brown bitching about not getting the ball more after a win then getting him the ball more in a terrible loss, I dunno.  On the road at Arrowhead.  Steelers left reeling.

  • Chargers at Raiders - Carr has a fractured bone in his back. Even if he does start, a couple of sacks will more than likely knock him out of the game.  EJ Manuel ain't gonna get his team a win.

  • Giants at Broncos - The G-men will be 0-7 going into their bye in a couple of weeks.  Wow.

Monday, October 16

  • Colts at Titans - Let's create some MNF drama.  I think the Titans will be without Mariota again.  Even if he plays, he'll be limited.  The Colts do just enough on the road to keep it close and ultimately win a tight game.

Lots of room for disagreement this week.  Let's see how it rolls!

I have to really parse these picks on my weeks to go second if I'm gonna make up any ground.  So I only have today's pick finalized.

But it's a Thursday Night Drama.

  • Eagles at Panthers (MATT DISAGREES)

Last year I was 10-6 on Thursday nights, 4-2 versus Matt.  Of course, last year I never trailed by a bajillion games either. :(

Thursday, October 12

  • Eagles at Panthers

Sunday, October 15

  • Dolphins at Falcons

  • Bears at Ravens

  • Browns at Texans Cleve has the 2nd worst pt. differential and 2nd least points scored but aren't as bad as their record.  Not brave enough to back up that opinion tho.

  • Packers at Vikings

  • Lions at Saints After 0-2 start, Saints getting back in it.

  • Patriots at Jets

  • 49ers at Redskins

  • Buccaneers at Cardinals

  • Rams at Jaguars Rams first in NFC west and recently beat the Cowboys in Dallas but Goff just had his worst game of the year.  Jaguars also have impressive recent wins (Falcons.) I'm a homer!

  • Steelers at Chiefs Referendum on whether KC is as good as they seem and Pittsburgh as bad.

  • Chargers at Raiders Oak has lost three straight and with the fires raging in NoCal, this will be a weird game with plenty of distractions and potentially terrible air quality.  Still taking the Raiders assuming Carr plays (he is scheduled to go.)

  • Giants at Broncos

Monday, October 16

Colts at Titans If Mariota doesn't play, I'm going with the Colts.

Hokay.

Sunday, October 15

  • Dolphins at Falcons

  • Bears at Ravens (MATT DISAGREES) Bears will run well enough to win.  Unless the Ravens get ahead early, which I don't think they will.

  • Browns at Texans - It may be close, though.

  • Packers at Vikings (MATT DISAGREES) - I gotta swing for the fences.

  • Lions at Saints - All the teams that had a bye will win this week, at least a couple of them because they had a bye.  This is one.

  • Patriots at Jets - Could be close though if the Jets tap into the rivalry mojo.

  • 49ers at Redskins - This is another bye-dependant choice.  Both of these teams like to lose.

  • Buccaneers at Cardinals

  • Rams at Jaguars (MATT DISAGREES) - Yes, the Steelers suck, but I think the Jags made them suck, at least a little.

  • Steelers at Chiefs - The Steelers will win this game.  Unless I pick them.  So here I go.

  • Chargers at Raiders (MATT DISAGREES) -  Hanging all my hopes on the haplessness of the Chargers and the spit and bailing wire holding Derek Carr's back together.

  • Giants at Broncos - Shutout possible.

Monday, October 16

  • Colts at Titans (MATT DISAGREES) - If I gotta Miyagi that hamstring myself, Mariota is gonna win me some Monday Night Drama.

Well, this could be the week that I turn things around.  Just like last week was.  8/

A dismal 6-6 for the afternoon and an even more dismal 1-4 versus Matt with one to go.  Plus I can't even enjoy the Pittsburgh win.  Notice how they dominated for three quarters and never led by more than nine?  Pathetic.

The idea is you put them on their heels, make them one-dimensional.  Pound their defense.  Eat up clock.  And SCORE POINTS.

Not practice handshake celebrations on the sideline.

In addition to Doug's amazing I TOLD YOU SO above, Allan Summerall wins for the third week in a row picking the lowly Dolphins to win on the road against the NFC champion Falcons!

Now, we all should have seen it coming, what with the Dolphins coming off that week 1 bye versus an Atlanta team that did not score a single point in week 5 (LOL), but nope, only Allan.  That coupled with a third consecutive win makes me wanna kick this award up a notch.  Consider this a Lifetime Achievement I CALLED IT! Allan (in other words, stop winning now please).

Oh, and we got Charlie Brown'd by the Steelers because I'm a gutless turd.

With the Titans finally beating the Colts, I go 8-6 on the week and 4-2 v Hagerman.  For the season I'm 57-34 and 19-10 v Hagerman. Climbing that ladder...
