Who knew he debuted in a comic strip?

Facts #11 and #2 intrigued me.

That Al Williamson art in that Star Wars strip is just so gorgeous. What an artist!

I like it too, Shane. It's very captivating.

I do need to buy some STAR WARS strips soon. Forbidden Planet has a volume of newspaper strips - and they look good!

Al Williamson was originally supposed to ink JB's pencils on Wolverine, but sadly ended up only doing one panel. Would've been great to see what he did with it had he stayed on the series. Though I do find the Klaus Janson inks over JB's breakdowns in that run very cool as well and unlike anything else in JB's  oeuvre. It's interesting that as amazing as an artist as Williamson was that he did as much inking over other artists as he did, most famously probably over JR Jr's pencils on Dardevil. From what I've read Williamson enjoyed inking other artists as much as he did penciling and inking his own work. The writing on those Star Wars strips is very underrated too. Archie Goodwin is a very underrated writer. He's mostly remember as everyone's (including JB) favorite editor, but he was one hell of a writer too. Archie also wrote JB's Wolverine run. As much as I enjoy Janson's inks on that run, the Goodwin, Byrne, and Al Williamson team would've been a dream team!
