Surfing, I paused to answer the phone, leaving the TV on STNG, specifically, the episode "I, Borg". Hanging up, I turned to find my cat watching with rapt attention. He sat there for about ten minutes!

Some of the Borg have laser pointers on their heads, right? That would be a good reason.

First of all, cool you are a cat fan/cat person. Can we perhaps get to see a photo of him or her?

Second regarding your question, I honestly have no idea. There must be something really enticing that the cat saw in that video.
Happens to mine as well, sometimes they randomly find television really fascinating but it doesn't always involve depictions of birds of small animals that drew in their attention.
It can be a quick motion, an unusual sound, that sort of thing they consider really important to watch out for.

Poe taking far too much interest in one of the model airplanes hanging over my drawingboard. . . .

Gender aside, I'm surprised it's not "Isis"...

Did any of you ever see the Whiskers ad they made for cats about 15 years ago? It was all twinkly lights and shimmers. My cats went ballistic for it, watching, patting, filling the lights from one side of the tv to the other. I had it on video but lost it years ago.
