JB - On another comic book forum I belong to, some people are debating whether the below is your work. I figured the best way to find out is to go to the source. The piece is from 1983.

First, a reminder that I have asked many times that the the subject of questions be included in the thread title. Second -- no, that is not my work.

Please accept my apologies for not including the subject of the question in the thread title, I will not make that mistake again.
Thank you for the quick response, it didn't look like your work to my eyes, but better to make 100% sure.

Now that Mr. Byrne has responded, it looks as if that might be Jim Starlin and Dick Giordano to these tired old eyes.
That space junk does have a kind of Byrne-esque quality to it, though.

I wonder if it's Jerry Ordway?

JB says it's not his, and in 1983 he was still exclusive to Marvel. My guess, Jerry Ordway, was working at DC on "All-Star Squadron" and there are details in that drawing that I think are evocative of his style as much as JB's work.

Looking closely, I am even more convinced it is Ordway. There are certain ways he draws muscles, and there's a little thing he does when drawing the corners of a character's mouth that I see here. It wpuld be early Ordway, but I am sure it is him.

A Google search for "Jerry Ordway puzzle" didn't bring up the exact photo, but there is a drawing he did many years later that echoes the drawing for the 1983 puzzle: LINK.

Weird. Looks like Ordway on the body, but not the face. Did he pencil and somebody else (Dick Giordano? or possibly Dave Hunt?) ink? Or did he ink somebody else's pencils?
