Is this really the latest version of this acronym? I just discovered it on line, and had to look it up to learn that the last four letters stand for Intersex, Asexual, Polyamorous and Kink. At the risk of getting in trouble, it seems like at least three of those present a danger of "diluting" the rainbow. I ask, seriously, are asexual people discriminated against? (And if so, how?) To borrow a line from NEWS RADIO, doesn't "polyamorous" mean "getting a lot?" And... kink? Totally bewildered, here. Isn't "kink" pretty much a disparaging term for the others? One that should probably be retired rather than celebrated as a separate entity? Help me out here, people! Inquiring minds want to know!

Putting asexual in the same group as homosexual and bisexuals is a little like putting a little white person in the black movement. And straight polyamorous or kinky people in the same group? What's the fight, again? That said, my girlfriend knows an asexual lesbian, so... who knows?
When I was a kid, in Brazil the acronym was GLS: Gays, Lesbians and Sympathizers. No more.

I suppose that would be a woman who has emotional, romantic (can't think of a better word) feelings for other women, but no libido to speak of.
The "P" and "K" really don't belong, I agree there.

What's the difference between Kink and Fetish... or is "F" the next letter?

A few months back, this 'asexual' bit caused a comic related flap. Apparently it has been decided that Jughead is asexual, because he isn't interested in having a girl or boyfriend. So Mark Waid wrote an issue in which Sabrina decides Jughead needs a girlfriend and casts a spell on the women in Riverdale to make them all fall in love with Jughead. Typical Archie fare, right?
Well, twitter exploded, calling Waid 'aphobic'.
I thought...well...he was writing Daredevil at the time.

I'd agree. I cannot imagine, if one asked every police force for stats, of a single hate crime against an asexual person.

The othey day I read a piece which suggested that Sue's line to Reed "Go handle a test tube!" in a Lee-Kirby FF c.1965 was a reference to masturbation, and that there was an erotic component to the scenes in early issues where Reed holds an angry Ben back by wrapping himself around his body. I give up.

To paraphrase Grandpa Simpson, "Every time I think I know all the letters that follow LGBTQ, they add more!"If they decided the 'A' stood for 'Anal', then they could add an 'O' for 'Oral'. And that's about all the 'designation' any of it needs.

"Adults" -- by which I mean emotionally retarded time wasters -- have taken an entertainment form created for children and warped it into "adult" -- by which I mean sophomoric -- fare. And now they want to analyze all of it as if it was intended for "adults" all along.
