I was a big monster fan back in my youth but it faded quickly.
Oh, but I do agree that you cannot have a truly memorable Bigfoot "sighting" without Stephanie Powers being present, ala THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN. :-)

Guess that's just "Shalon" a day's work...* * *
Hmm...Apploy, do you hear a chirping sound?
Our files indicate it is a primitive insecr known as a 'cricket'.
Oh, yes...our files also indicate they associated with an Earthman named 'Buddy Holly'.
Shut up, Faler. * * *

The creature/animal that we call "Bigfoot/Sasquatch/Yeti/ the Abominable Snowman" did exist. it was the world's largest species of ape called Gigantopithecus. The species went extinct 100,000 years ago. As for modern day Bigfoot and Yeti sightings, they are most likely bears or orangutans.

…Gigantopithecus…•• Important to remember that critter is almost entirely speculative, based on the paucity of remains found to date.

Reminds me of talk about the brontosaurus. The creature that my school textbooks stated existed. But it didn't, did it?

So does it mean that the legends about such creatures survived for 100,000 years generations through generations ? In fact we are simply remembering them in a way ???

Sure it did! Just depends on what you want to call it. JB uses its bones as a chew toy for his dogs! True story.

That's a good point JB, and one that I didn't even consider because of all of those documentary's about Gigantopithecus made it seem like there was concrete proof of the animal's existence.
Speaking of large mysterious ape species, has there been any concrete proof that the Bili Ape exists?

I discovered the site recently (not whilst looking for Bigfoot, I might add). It's not the best name for a site, I know.
