Nice photos, Jason.
The eclipse was a non-event here. It was only supposed to be a partial eclipse, but I couldn't see anything going on at all.

I can be critical of the BBC at times, but they did cover this very well, with some nice footage and analysis. Well done, BBC.

We didn't get totality here in Knoxville, but it was something like 99.3%, so close enough. Would have had to drive over an hour to get somewhere for totality. The local news was reporting from Sweetwater, where a lot of people went to see it.
They gave all the schoolkids a pair of free eclipse glasses, so we just used Riley's (Heidi's son and my future stepson) and took turns looking at it using those, plus we constructed a box to look at it through. Problem is the early pictures Heidi took didn't look all that great, so we didn't take any when it was in full effect. (We do have pics of me, Heidi, Riley and my mom all taking turns with the glasses, though. My father declined to look.)

Thank you. I wish I could have captured how amazing it really was.

Eclipses are among the things that sometimes cause me to imagine I can see a "controlling hand" in our little bit of local space. Not a divine hand, of course, but there is so much about the Moon that seems deliberately intended to make us pay attention to it. Some of those things are perfectly natural, of course, such as the way it is tidally locked and keep the same face always toward us. But that it is nearly exactly the same size as the Sun in the sky, and passes so precisely in front of it to create these spectacular events -- it's as if someone wanted the Moon to be constantly calling "Look at me! Look at me!" Maybe as an inspiration for we humans to do something with our lives instead of just squatting in caves and being afraid of everything!(The fact that eclipses to not occur with clockwork regularity also lends itself to this. We aren't allowed to get used to them.)

I considered using a colander because of all the holes, but thought it might `strain` my eyes!

****** During the eclipse, it finally occurred to me that the moon perfectly aligns with the sun due to the effects of gravity. Earth pulling one way and Sol pulling the other puts old Luna right in alignment.

The eclipse was pretty uneventful for me. Didn't do much. Just got married on a rooftop in Nashville and, y'know, made the local news.
Sorry for the shameless self-indulgence. I just got home and I'm still on a bit of a high.
:)
