Just watched a -- let's call it a documentary, that informed me that in texting the period (.) is considered ANGRY.

Jeez, if you want nuance then speak face to face. If you want to text, write, semaphore, morse code, etc. then adhere to the rules of punctuation for that form of communication. This period idea can take a flying leap.

This is news to me. Sounds very arbitrary.

One suggestion is that texting is read more like a conversation. So people are taking tonal cues from the period that may or may not be there.

It all sounds like the idiots I encountered when I first cam online, who insisted that people in comics were all SHOUTING. (All caps)

Ridiculousness. (At meat in the workplace)
I instruct all employees to write full sentences with punctuation intact.
Communication, and I mean CRYSTAL clear communication, is
imperative to good teamwork.
I do like a well placed emoji every once in a while :)

It can be. If a period is placed after every single word in a sentence, it does emphasise how the writer is emphasising every word. In context, it can sound angry.

Just. Like. This.

My kids get on me because I text in full sentences, use proper words and avoid abbreviations as much as possible.

I'm sure some on the board can relate.
