Just in terms of box office dollars, certainly one of the most financially successful directors ever... but he's made some pretty damned good films, to boot (take that, Michael Bay!)...

My desert-island pick:  TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY (1991)

It's really a toss-up between this and the original, but for me personally, this one gets my vote, if only because I actually caught this one 3 times in the theaters, and the audiences went completely & absolutely nuts each time.  Just fond memories of a great moviegoing experience.

THE TERMINATOR.

As much as I love the sequel, and as well-made as it is, I find myself thinking about and rewatching the original much more often.

THE TERMINATOR

I have almost no affinity for this director. T2 is okay.

It's a toss-up between two films for me, and the winner is... Aliens.

Cameron has so worn me down with his excesses that I find it nearly impossible to enjoy any of his movies anymore.

ALIENS. The best directed action film of all time, IMHO.

I can only really think of THE TERMINATOR as a Cameron movie that I enjoy watching again.

I haven't seen AVATAR, but I am sure I've heard people use the word "excesses" in relation to that film. Wondering if anyone had a view on that?
