I recently bought these fabric, store displays. At least, that's what I think they are -- I remember seeing them used that way in comic stores when I was a kid.

They are in amazing shape -- guessing they were never used.

Question for anyone to answer --

Was that FF image used anywhere else?

This was the only place I have seen this FF image used. Nice haul Nathan!! I would like to get my hands on these as well.

Do you know if there were any other Byrne fabric displays like this?

I'm wondering if I have a complete set...

I've been looking for these for a long while, Sean. I had seen a few on Ebay, but the condition turned me off.

Nathan I don't know if there are more. These have been the only ones I have seen. I know what you mean about the condition of them. I have seen them from time to time on eBay but didn't have the extra money at the time to get them. I hope down the road that I may get lucking and find them.

I haven't seen those in forever! I think I still have a couple in storage.

I am a big foe of the concept of "storage". One of the ways I justify the crazy amount of money I spend on toys and such is that I can put out my hand and "touch every dollar".

This has both an upside and a downside. The downside is that the display areas in my house get seriously crowded. The upside is that those crowded spaces slow down my spending, as I have to consider the footprint of everything I buy!!

I'm in a similar position. I don't like a lot of clutter. And I also won't put items "in storage" (I have a closet with some short boxes full of comics in it). My walls and other display areas are getting pretty full. My wife, knowing my tastes, will often see an item she thinks I'd like. Usually a poster size photo or something else large-ish. And I agree that I like it, most times, but the biggest question I find myself asking is, "Where would I put it??"  It does make one a more discerning shopper. I really have to like something to add it to the collection, at this point...

I also like to "touch every dollar." So, yes...I take care of my toys, but I do enjoy playing with them, too.

Seems odd to have new art created for this one -- but the rest are reused art... (this is also the only one with a number on it)

Tracking down a JB image of Dr. Doom with no cape should be fairly simple. Although, given the number of Doom images WITH a cape, why go this route? Could this be cobbled together by various images by "art staff"?
