If the Omega Beams strike the ground, how much area is
erased?

***

I know little, but I thought they only affected living beings (I suppose the ground would suffer some collateral damage).

I have Jack Kirby's Fourth World Omnibus in four softcover volumes.

---

I have the hardcover volumes, and they're beautiful. My only quibble is
that I would have preferred they be produced without dust jackets.

Can I just say that it may have been Marvel that got me interested in science.

I remember asking the school librarian if she books on gamma radiation after watching the Bixby/Ferrigno series.

And I did research magnetism and electricity once because I was wondering how Iron Man would fare against Electro.

From time to time, even as an adult, I've looked up science when reading adventures featuring the likes of Darkseid's Omega Beams. Sounds geeky, I know.

If that's geeky, I'm a proud member of the club. I've learned tons from and due to comic books since I started reading them as a boy.

It started off with checking facts, i.e. was Latveria a real country? (It isn't, but sure sounds like Latvia).

I did read up on cosmic rays, gamma rays, etc. My mum worked in a hospital as a healthcare assistant - and I remember asking her about radiation in general. She talked about medical applications and the like.

I was primarily interested in the superhero exploits, but the scientific stuff was a useful by-product of my comic reading.

What would happen if the beams hit the living planet
EGO?

What would happen if they hit invisible woman's force
bubble around herself?

I'm also wondering if Darkseid's Omega Beams could be made redundant if in the realm of, say, Nightmare or Dormammu. Are they powerful enough?

I fell, as Mr. Byrne noted, it depends on the typist involved.

I think the scale should be determined by the relative power levels.
So, Darkseid's Omega beams vs...
Spider-Man - complete obliteration, as noted.
Iron Man - The most current armor might allow that the armor would disappear, leaving behind one very vulnerable Tony Stark.
Silver Surfer or Superman - Probably wouldn't eliminate them, but it would knock 'em for a loop.
Galactus or Odin - It would damage them, but not kill them or knock them around.
Darkseid - Assuming the redirection or reflection, it has devastated him, but not destroyed him - likely the same results as with Superman or the Surfer.

These are generalities. For specifics - say, Darkseid vs Dormammu - it would depend on the story around it. Whichever result best served the story would be the expected outcome. After all, didn't Ka-Zar once beat Thanos, and Squirrel Girl triumph over Dr. Doom?

We can at least agree that the Living Tribunal survives Darkseid's Omega Beams...right?

The Living Tribunal eats Darkseid for breakfast and consumes Thanos (gauntlet and all) and Galactus for morning tea.

I was told once (not here) that I was pedantic about things. Someone accused me of trying to quantify certain aspects of power.

Nothing could be further from the truth. As my record shows, it's all about FUN. Nothing more, nothing less.

I just smile at the thought of Galactus consuming the energies of Dormammu's Dark Dimension - or Destroyer surviving Darkseid's Omega Beams. It's not about quantifying anything or being anal, it's simply about imaging such scenarios.
