West starred in a very funny pilot to a series that never aired called LOOKWELL...

••

It's on YouTube. Astonishing to see how much the look of sitcoms has changed since 1991 -- unless they were going for a specifically outdated ambience. The recurrent "No, that was..." is cute.

Looking at some scenes of this LOOKWELL, I'm struck again how unfortunate it was that Mr. West had not been cast in a serious role.

Speaking of pilots, an interesting 'might have been'.  A scene from the pilot to Alexander the Great, starring William Shatner and Adam West.

DC has released an unaired "Powerless" episode featuring Adam West entitled “Win, Luthor, Draw” for a limited time. I never watched the show, but 3 minutes in, I can understand why it got cancelled.

You mean the "Dragnet" building!  :)

What a beautiful, simple image that is.  Great pic.

I was in the gym this morning and on one of the screens they were showing some news channel that showed an image of the bat signal against that tower for Adam West... and there must have been something in my eye.

I am sure that Adam West, and the Batman TV show, is directly responsible for me becoming a life-long fan of comics.

= In 1966, when my older brother had to draw pictures of our family for school, he drew a picture of 3-year-old me watching Batman on TV because I was so obsessed with it.

= When our cat had kittens in 1967 I named my all black cat Batman.

= And so on.

RIP Mr West, and thanks for the memories.

These digressions are un-sigh-tly.
Or they would be, if JB would just say 'Shut up' instead of sighing...
