Pretty lacklustre the past two seasons. Hope they spice it up for this one.

They should have stayed in the time period before the entire world goes to hell and show the way it collapsed.  Now they kill off one of the best characters?  Not liking it.

I didn't care for the character. So the loss is no big deal for me.  Actually with the exception of two characters. I don't care what happens to any of them. This show has been nothing but filler for me. As long as it's moderately entertaining I've got no complaints.

The one thing that this show has over The Walking Dead is that truly anyone can die at any moment.

I feel that the show has been slowly improving. The first season was lackluster and missed the point. It was marketed as being about the initial outbreak and the breakdown of society but spent most of that first season behind the fences in a locked down community and missed most of the actual story it promised. The second season was an improvement, particularly in the second half. The third season is off to an interesting start and I'll be sticking with it for now.

The other major problem that the show has had was the lack of likeable characters. Most of the cast was either "meh" or unlikeable in the early parts of the show and that is a turn off for the viewers. Over the course of the two previous seasons, they have managed to make a few of the bland characters more interesting and have eliminated a few of the more annoying ones, so it's getting better on that front as well.

One of the things I liked about this show WAS the fact that it looked like the major characters were safe (for the time being, at least)--the main show makes me a little too nervous sometimes!  (I don't want to worry about every single favorite every single week!)  And now they ruined that for me.

I disagree. The fact that anyone could potentially die at any time adds a sense of urgency to shows like TWD and Game of Thrones. Knowing that characters might not make it out of any given situation adds to the drama and heightens the stakes.

Yeah--for THE WALKING DEAD!  For FTWD, I was enjoying the breathing room (and character development) they gave us for this family.  With TWD, at least they bring in new interesting characters whenever they send an older one packing.  Here, you've got five main characters and they just got rid of one.  I really like the other four and I am not looking forward to losing any of them.

It seems that FTWD does a better job of changing locations, perhaps because it doesn't bother to burden itself with such things as dense story or heavy characterization.

I enjoy the visual aspects of the show, but it's really just a way for me to get a Zombie fix in miscellaneous settings, and at least with FTWD, the "rules" are already set.

They aren't restricted like TWD. Which has at least some adherence to the comic series. That's the one thing I can say that I like about FTWD over TWD. Truly anything can happen on this show. They can go anywhere and anyone can die.  Until TWD catches up to the comics. At that point if the show is still on the air. They can open things up more.

Loved the last episode.  I was surprised I did as I almost gave up on the show.

I enjoyed it as well. I liked that it was subtitled. I have only one issue with the episode. The Walker getting killed by the bolt of lightning. It was a badass visual for sure. But Daniel getting saved that way was a bit much.

Thoughts on tonight's midseason finale?

It returns on September 10th.
